Verification of the FEM self-assessment is conducted by a third- or second-party SAC-approved verifier. The verifier is selected and hired to review a facility site. The verifier is the only person responsible for validating the accuracy of the assessment.
Please note that in order to verify an assessment, the facility needs to purchase a verification module for the assessment you would like to verify.
If you have not purchased the FEM verification yet, you can click on the "Purchase Verification" button as shown in the screenshot below to start the verification process for your FEM 2022.
Once the vFEM 2022 has been purchased, you will have the option to select a Verifying Body.
To prepare for FEM verification, follow the steps below:
- Verification confirmation. Facilities must first confirm the timing and terms of the verification directly with the verifier organization. Verification confirmation happens outside of the Higg.org platform (it should be discussed directly with the verifier). View the list of Higg FEM Verifiers here.
- Assessment should be in VRC. The facility must first fully complete and post their FEM self-assessment (reach 100% completion rate) before being able to start verification.
- Verification Process. After completing both of the aforementioned steps, the verification process may commence.
Select a Verifying Body
To begin verification, first select the verifier body on the platform. This can be done from the FEM dashboard by clicking the ‘Select Verifier Body’ button. Make sure to select the Verifier Body that you have already contacted and arranged to complete verification with.
The verifier must then accept the verification request. Once that has been completed, the status will change to ‘Accepted’.
