This aligns with the public guidance from [Textile Exchange.](https://textileexchange.org/app/uploads/2024/12/Supply-Chain-Taxonomy.pdf)   ## **Tier 1** - **Finished Product Assembler** - Finished goods production/ final product assembly (e.g., shirts, pants, footwear) - Final product knitting (e.g.,socks, scarfs, caps) - **Finished Product Processing -** Product Printing, Product Painting, Embroidery & Embellishments, Buffing & Polishing, Moulding etc. - Printing and painting of products  - Home Furnishing : Buffing & Polishing, Moulding etc. - **Finished Product Processing -** Product Dyeing, Product Laundering and Product Finishing - Dyeing of products, including wet processing, and laundering   ## **Tier 2** - **Component / Sub-Assembly Manufacturing**, including Packaging - Label, zipper, snap, button, elastic bungee, cardboard, moulds - Home Furnishing : Metal Handle - Footwear : Uppers, Soles, Laces etc. - **Material Production** - Raw and intermediate materials are transformed into their final state before assembly - Fabric dye-house, fabric manufacturer, yarn dyeing, PCB manufacturer, fabric printing - Hardgoods: Metal pieces, wooden laminates, metal plating   ## **Tier 3** - **Raw Material Processing** - Raw Materials are processed into intermediate material products - Yarn spinning - Hardgoods: foundry, metal processing, plastic injection, Wood Planks   ## **Tier 4** - **Raw Material Collection & Bulk Refining** - Materials are collected/extracted/farmed and refined to bulk commodity state - Cotton farming and ginning, processing of bottles, fabric scrap, etc. into new recycled materials, forestry, mining, crude oil refinery, MMC pulp production, MMC fiber production - Home Furnishing : Wooden Logs , Metal Sheet rolls.   ## **Active and Historic Facility Types** The following table contains both Active and Historic facility types to use for year over year analysis. - **Active facility types** - These facilities are in the current FEM version - **Historic facility types** - These facilities were in previous FEM versions **sipfacilitytype** **tier** **Active FEM?** **Chemical & Raw Material Production** Tier 4 Historic **Component and parts manufacturing, including molding** Tier 2 Historic **Components, electronic and electrical** Tier 2 Historic **Finished Product Assembler** Tier 1 Active **Final Product Assembly** Tier 1 Historic **Component / Sub-Assembly Manufacturing (incl Packaging) (e.g. Label, Zipper, Snap, Button, Elastic Bungee, cardboard, etc)** Tier 2 Active **Hard Product Component & Trim Production (Plastic, Metal, Wood)** Tier 2 Historic **Material Production (textile, rubber, foam, insulation, pliable materials)** Tier 2 Historic **Material Production (Raw and intermediate materials are transformed into their final state before assembly) (e.g. Fabric dye-house, Fabric manufacturer, Yarn Dyeing, PCB manufacturer, etc)** Tier 2 Active **Other** Other Historic **Packaging manufacturer** Packaging Historic **Packaging Production** Packaging Historic **Printing, Product Dyeing and Laundering** Tier 1 Historic **Product Assembly** Tier 1 Historic **Product Assembly, sub-assemblies and final assembly** Tier 1 Historic **Raw Material Manufacturing** Tier 4 Historic **Raw Material Collection & Bulk Refining (Materials are collected/extracted/farmed and refined to bulk commodity state) (eg.
