  • Emergency response procedures (fire safety, medical assistance, evacuation plans).
  • Training programs for employees and supervisors.
  • Conduct workplace risk assessments and incorporate findings into the policy. Identify critical hazards (e.g., chemical exposure, machine-related injuries, ergonomic risks) and address them through clear procedures.
  • Distribute the policy to all employees in a language they understand.
  • Train workers on key aspects of the OHS policy and reporting mechanisms.
  • Conduct an annual review of safety procedures, incorporating new regulations, technological advancements, and lessons from past incidents.
  • Assign safety officers or committees to oversee policy implementation.
  • Encourage workers to actively participate in safety discussions, audits, and reporting unsafe conditions. implementing a comprehensive written OHS policy, the facility can reduce workplace incidents, ensure legal compliance, and align with global labor standards.
  • Failure to establish a structured OHS framework increases exposure to legal action, reputational damage, and worker harm—contradicting the Better Work Program’s Zero Tolerance principles.
