Why are some chemicals unverified?

1. A compliance document is available, but not part of The BHive database. 
   • ACTION: Upload compliance document to The BHive 
2. No compliance document available at the moment. 
   • ACTION: Contact your chemical supplier to obtain compliance document or initiate testing / certification 
3. Chemical contains hazardous substances / no compliance document can be obtained
   • ACTION: Substitute your chemical product 

Why are some chemicals compliant for one customer, but not others?

1. Each customer has their own compliance criteria. 
2. Most brands go by ZDCH InCheck Scope and ZDHC MRSL as compliance evaluation. 
3. Some brands also accept documents like GOTS which are not associated with ZDHC anymore.
   • This will be automatically included as verified in your brand compliance pie chart.
4. Some of you are InCheck subscribers and will get compliance data from ZDHC Gateway, too. 
5. Only ZDHC Member brands are allowed access to compliance data from ZDHC Gateway.
   • Non-ZDHC member brands might see these as unverified. 
   • ACTION: upload compliance document to The BHive

Improving Compliance

Starting Point: You identify an unverified chemical

1. Option 1: Contact the same chemical supplier to ask for certification information.
   1. If it is available: Upload on The BHive 
   2. If none is available: ask for a substitute
   3. If no substitute available: Option 2
2. Option 2: Contact another partnered chemical supplier for a substitute
   1. If no substitute available: Option 3
3. Option 3: Look for positive list from standard holders (e.g., Scivera, Oeko-Tex, Bluesign, etc. or from chemical suppliers)
