Note: Before adding a new factory or organization, it is important that you conduct a search for the factory, or organization, and see if other members have already entered it into the system. Doing so prevents the creation of duplicate account records in the database.
How to Add an Organization Type
An Organization Type must first be added in User Roles before adding an organization account to your supply chain.
- Begin by navigating to Administration and select User Roles from the left-hand navigation menu.

- Select the Account Type from the dropdown. Options include External Monitor-Auditor, Factory, Internal Account, and External Organization - SCI (Supply Chain Intermediary)

- Enter the Security Role Name.

- Toggle OrgTypeRole to Yes. Select Save.
- When toggling the OrgTypeRole, you are informing the system whether these are internal organizations (Internal Account) or external organizations (External Monitor " Auditor, External Organization " SCI)
- This step will inform your options when adding a new organization account

Let's walk through an example:
- Select Create a new role from an existing one.
- Set the Account Type as External Organization - SCI. This step informs the permission settings for the role.
- Enter the Security Role Name as Brand/Customer
- Toggle the OrgTypeRole to Yes. This step sets this security role as an organization account type option.
- Select Save.
This creates a new account type in the Available Security Role list.

Next, select the pencil icon beside the role to edit permission settings for the newly created role.

This reveals the Permission Setting tab for this security role.
Check the boxes to add or remove permissions for the role. Click here to learn more about Permission Settings in the Create and Manage User Roles article. Once youre done, select the Save button.
