Use the following directions to bulk delete columns from the Product Impact Calculator.
Bulk deleting information from any column means 100% erasing all values.
For example, if you have a string of tags, bulk deleting will remove all tags saved in the row. If you wish to delete just one tag, you must use the Product Impact Calculator: Bulk Upload - Overwrite Products Workbook to do so.
Preparing to Bulk Delete
Bulk deleting information in PIC requires bulk uploading a file with the columns you wish to delete.
It is highly recommended to download the Purchase Order Impacts CSV file in order to quickly scan all of your data and determine what needs to be deleted.
NOTE: The bulk delete functionality can only be applied to certain fields. Refer to the table below to see which fields can be bulk deleted.
- Begin by navigating to Products, followed by Purchases.
-
On the Purchases tab, select Download All and then Purchase Order Impacts CSV.
OPTIONAL: You can also use the check boxes to select a smaller group of records to bulk delete. - Before continuing, it is important to understand the difference between the two fields below when preparing your excel file. You cannot use both the Worldly Product ID and the Worldly PO ID when bulk deleting. Decide which of the two fields to keep in your sheet for uploading.
- Worldly Product ID - A unique identifier assigned to a specific product or item. It distinguishes one product from another and is used to track product details such as name, type, and specifications.
- Worldly PO ID - A unique identifier assigned to a purchase order — the document issued by a buyer to a supplier to request products or services. It’s used to track and manage orders and multiple POs can be applied to the same Product ID.
-
Next, determine which columns you wish to delete. In this example, a facility is redoing how they've applied tags to their products. In order to delete (2) tags that correspond with (1) specific products, their excel sheet will look like this:
- This facility has multiple PO IDs applied to each Product ID, so they keep the Worldly Product ID column and delete the Worldly PO ID column.
- Additionally, all other columns except the Tags column are deleted. The facility bulk deletes the tags from the associated products by uploading an excel sheet with these two columns.
-
Your file is now ready to upload.
